They’re not really intended as a backup plan for runaway brides, but the white satin bridal sneakers launched by Paris-based bridal footwear label Vouelle have still become a big hit. But why sneakers? Well, that’s to give your feet some rest before you step into those killer heels for your big day.
“A lot of brides buy them to wear on the morning of their wedding, when they’re getting their hair done,” Regan de Vogele, CEO of the label, was quoted as saying.
In India too, the idea is finding favour. “It’s very difficult for a bride to stand on her feet during the wedding, pose for photos, dance, etc. The most beautiful shoes seem totally uncomfortable by the end of the day. The idea of sneakers is really cool,” says Ruchita Gupta, a wedding planner. Can we have coloured versions for Indian brides, in that case?
